It is a joy and privilege to work with children, parents and families. I am passionate about integrating traditional medicine with a functional approach to help kids heal and thrive.
My background: I have spent nearly 20 years as a pediatric nurse with 12 of those years as a pediatric nurse practitioner. I received my Masters of Science in Nursing from Rush University in Chicago Illinois and my Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Marquette University in Milwaukee Wisconsin. My Masters Program specialized in pediatric primary care and I'm a Board Certified Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. I learned pediatric functional medicine through the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs (MAPS). I completed the Fellowship program which included in depth functional training in Environmental Medicine, Neurology, Metabolism, Gastroenterology, Nutrition, Immunology, and Advanced Clinical Practice.
Outside of work I love being home with my husband Kirk and my three children. We love to be outdoors, read great books, find adventures, and learn new things. Most of all we love to follow Jesus.

I am Maria Victorio-Coto, a dedicated Office assistant with certifications as a Phlebotomist and Medical Assistant.

John 10:10
Functional Medicine (FM) is a science based, personalized, holistic healthcare approach that focuses on identifying and treating the root cause of illness. Through the lens of FM, our goal is to help you get well and stay well through treating the root cause of your symptoms. Only treating symptoms of disease will rarely lead to sustainable wellness, and contributes to the revolving door of disease and episodic dysfunction. Instead of waiting for things to become “bad enough” to diagnose and treat, we work with you to take proactive, targeted action now.
Our goal for you is health, not management of disease.

We review your history and current concerns and I take time to fully understand your story, your health concerns, and your personal goals.
I typically recommend a full lab panel, which can be drawn at this appointment (if you are fasting and seen in person), scheduled another time in my office, or sent to a Labcorp near you
We will review metabolic health, hormone balance, gut health, nutrition, exercise/ movement, sleep, stress response, and detoxification and formulate a plan that works for you.
Your plan will include lifestyle interventions, a food plan, nutritional supplements, and in some cases, prescription medications (including compounded semaglutide therapy and bioidentical hormone replacement, as indicated and appropriate).
We will check your body composition, review your progress, and refine and support as needed. At each visit, we will review exercise, nutrition, sleep, stress, gut health, hormone balance, and detoxification- as these are essential to long term metabolic health and vitality!
We will check body composition at each visit (in office or with your own home scale) and basic labs and MSQ (symptom score) every 3-6 mos.
